"MeshViz did an incredible job visualizing our NDT inspection technology. The ultrasonic scanning simulation makes complex mechanics instantly clear."
Sarclad Rollscan
Engineering a high-fidelity 3D digital twin and non-destructive testing (NDT) simulation suite for Sarclad’s automated roll inspection technology, showcasing subsurface defect detection and precision sensor scanning.
01 // WHAT WE DID
Visualizing Advanced Non-Destructive Testing for Rolling Mill Rolls.
Sarclad’s Rollscan is a world-leading automated inspection system engineered to detect critical subsurface and surface defects in heavy industrial rolling mill rolls before catastrophic failures occur.
MeshViz designed, modeled, and animated a fully rendered 3D digital twin of the Rollscan inspection gantry, articulating sensor arrays, and real-time data-mapping systems.
By animating invisible physical processes—such as ultrasonic wave propagation and internal flaw detection—we created a powerful visual asset for Sarclad’s global marketing and technical sales teams.
02 // ARCHITECTURE
High-Precision Rigging, Simulated Ultrasonic Waveforms, and Heatmaps.
1. Mechanical Gantry Rigging: Programmed precise motion paths for the gantry travel, roll rotation, and articulating sensor head positioning during active testing cycles.
2. Simulated NDT Data Overlays: Developed motion-tracked graphical overlays and volumetric heatmaps that demonstrate ultrasonic wave penetration and real-time flaw mapping.
3. Industrial PBR Texturing & Studio Lighting: Applied high-detail metallic shaders and cinematic studio lighting to highlight Sarclad’s heavy-engineering build quality.
4. Multi-Platform 4K Render Pipeline: Delivered native 4K video outputs optimized for both high-impact exhibition displays and fast web streaming.
03 // RESULTS
Clear Proof of Technology for Global Metals Quality Control.
The Rollscan 3D animation suite gives Sarclad an authoritative visual tool to present complex non-destructive testing capabilities to plant managers and quality control engineers globally.
By making subsurface defect detection visually explicit, the digital twin has significantly enhanced technical engagement during international sales pitches and trade expos.
"The motion design and simulated data overlays have significantly enhanced our technical presentations and client onboarding."
"World-class industrial animation quality. MeshViz consistently exceeds our expectations on complex 3D engineering renders."
